About Teach Different

Teaching is an act of creativity, not compliance.

For educators who dare to ask "What if?" instead of "What is?"

Why I Started Teach Different

For most of my career, I was told to stay in my lane.

Follow the curriculum. Stick to the plan.

But every time I did, something important was missing — curiosity.

I've seen what happens when teachers have the freedom to experiment, when students are given space to explore, and when creativity isn't an afterthought but the starting point. That's when the magic of learning happens.

Teach Different was born from that idea — that teaching is an act of creativity, not compliance.

It's for educators who dare to ask "What if?" instead of "What is?"

It's a place for dreamers, designers, and doers who believe that imagination and innovation belong in every classroom.

Our Vision

We believe every child — and every teacher — has a spark of genius waiting to be unlocked.

Our mission is to foster creativity, empower educators, and integrate AI thoughtfully to support real-world innovation in classrooms.

Through lessons, videos, and conversations, Teach Different aims to:

  • Reignite joy, curiosity, and play in teaching
  • Help teachers use AI as a creative partner, not a replacement
  • Build a community of educators who inspire rather than instruct
  • Celebrate courage — the courage to try something new, to imagine something better, to teach differently

Who I Am

I'm Patrick Johnson, an Ontario educator, innovator, and lifelong learner.

I teach because I believe classrooms can be launchpads for creativity — places where kids don't just learn answers, they learn how to think differently.

Over the years, I've built interactive learning apps, designed AI-powered classroom tools, and shared ideas through podcasts and PD sessions — all rooted in one belief: education should spark wonder.

Join the Movement

Teach Different isn't just a website.
